Integrative Nutrition Health Coach can assist you in creating and implementing a sustainable plan to achieve your unique health and wellness goals.
This month Empowered Wellness Coaching focuses on "Beyond Your Plate" that includes the elements of:
Multidimensional Health
Primary Food and
Circle of Life Tool

The familiar saying "You are what you eat" holds truth, but eating nutrient-rich food is only one part of the equation. Your overall well-being is shaped by choices you make in every aspect of your life, including your relationships, job, and environment. By looking at health holistically – understanding its interconnectedness – you can find greater balance and satisfaction.
Multidimensional Health
Health encompasses physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental dimensions. These facets are not isolated; they interact to form your Multidimensional Health, where each aspect influences the others on your journey to whole-person health.
*Physical health:** The state of your body, influenced by your diet, genetics, and the prevention or absence of disease.
*Mental health:** Encompasses your beliefs, self-talk, relationship with stress, and ability to cope with difficult situations.
*Emotional health:** Involves the emotions that arise daily and how they relate to yourself and others.
*Spiritual health:** Relates to feeling a sense of purpose, connection to something greater than yourself, and finding meaning in alignment with your thoughts, words, and actions.
The Primary Food Method
When you consider what truly nourishes you, what comes to mind? It might be a fulfilling career, cherished friendships, a walk in nature, or a creative outlet. These examples represent "primary food" – the aspects of life that feed your body, mind, and spirit beyond what's on your plate. Exploring your relationship with primary food can reveal its significant impact on your health and happiness.
The IIN Circle of Life Tool
The Institute for Integrative Nutrition's (IIN) Circle of Life tool is an excellent way to explore and assess 12 areas of primary food. Identifying balanced areas allows you to celebrate successes, while focusing on areas that feel out of balance can bring more satisfaction into your life. Remember, your Circle of Life is unique to you, highly bio-individual, and will change over time. Feel free to revisit this tool as often as you wish.
What Does Your Circle of Life Look Like?
1. Place a dot in each section to indicate your level of satisfaction in that area. A dot toward the periphery indicates satisfaction, and a dot closer to the center indicates dissatisfaction. For example, if your health feels great, place a dot toward the outer edge of the circle.
2. Connect the dots to visualize your Circle of Life.
3. Identify your current areas of focus. Determine where to invest more time and energy to cultivate balance.
